Our Neighbors' Place plans a variety of events to raise awareness in the community and to raise money to support our work.
Join us for a heartwarming event at Saint Bridget Catholic Church in River Falls. At Empty Bowls, we come together to fight hunger in our community. This event is a chance to enjoy delicious soup, connect with friends, and make a difference. During the event, you’ll be able to try all types of soup from different vendors and vote for your favorites in several categories.
By purchasing a ticket you'll be able to choose a bowl to remind you of those experiencing hunger in our community and support ONP, who helps those in need through the Backpack Program in the River Falls School District and The Day Center.
Come and fill your bowl with love, compassion, and hope. Together, we can make a difference in our local community. See you there!

Four local charities in western Wisconsin with a shared mission of providing food, shelter, and assistance to our less fortunate neighbors are partnering up for the Coldest Night of the Year 2025. These organizations include Grace Place in New Richmond, YMCA Farm at St. Croix, and Our Neighbors' Place in River Falls. River Valley Charities is leading the initiative and providing direction for the event. All proceeds from the event will be distributed equally among the four direct-service charities.
Next Event: February 28, 2026 starting at 5pm @ Midcurrent Church in Hudson, WI
1 in 3 households in the St. Croix Valley either qualify as living in poverty or living as an ALICE household (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed). But unless you’ve experienced poverty or these struggles, it’s difficult to truly understand. Simulation bridges that gap from misconception to understanding. This event will be an interactive immersion experience, sensitizing community participants to the realities of poverty or living as a member of the ALICE population.
